Wait... what?

I have WHO all weekend?

BEN?!

Friday, July 24, 2009

Finally Friday!

Wow i need a rest.
So much work in the garden,
by the pool, tending flowers and all kinds of plants.

Look who i found!
a baby from the tadpoles we saved!

Look at him!

I almost crushed him running in the yard.
mom saw him and saved him from my feet!
Then we let him go in a safe place!

Thankful thursday.

I'm thankful this fine thursday for my garden of goodness!
Look at my pepper plants!
they are doing really well.
:)

Look at my little peppers!
They've grown big and strong, even though they
had a rough start, with all those bunnies
eating them whenever they could!

My tomatoes are starting.

No red ones yet, but i'm getting ready for them!

All the snow peas died.
They don't do well in heat. Dad got
a good harvest, then they die off.
Poor peas.

My garden side view.
:)

This season will be good!

Tuesday Flowers.

Tiger Lilies.
They're getting ready to bloom.
They're some of sister's favorites!

Some in the back have already bloomed.

I showed them to sister, she waits for this EVERY summer!

Beautiful lilies.

She could shoot them forever.
And probably will.

She thinks they're gorgeous!

So do i.
I like to sniff 'em.

Here are our cannas lilies!
look how big they got!

First bloom, pink!

right now, all these flowers are too high up for me to sniff.
I'll hang out here in the shade!

Monday with ben.

Sometimes, you have to put the little guys in place.

They don't seem to get what kind of damage you can really do.

i'm older and wiser.
and faster too.

Look at my banana plant from MY view!
Crazy tall!

Benny finally shuts up and lays down.

He's kind of handsome.
For a slobbery schnauzer.

update on my plants.

This is one of our newest plants.
It's it beautiful?
Such a bright color!

My banana plants, and basil.

Another new plant, dad bought for mom.

the HUGE banana plant!
it always loves this spot!
my yard looks tropical!

Basil, that's very very happy!

More basil, and a small tomato plant.

oh! stop for rubs!

Water logged Benny.

Ben came over the other day.
Look at how great my pool looks!
Much clearer than last time he was here.

Sister had to throw him in.

I of course took off, as i did NOT want to be thrown in.
I left ben to fend for himself.
He lost.

He kind of looks like a hog.

Last day at the beach.

Ahhhhhhhh.... refreshing.
Ben is LONG gone!

He was always yippin or yappin,
and just plain annoying!
He didn't even come to the beach the last
two days he was here,
because he just sat and whined and cried about
how this was the worst trip of his life.

This is my vacation too you know.
i shouldn't have to put up with it!
Yes, grounds keepers need a vacation too!

Wednesday we're celebrating sister's husband's birthday.
They're coming over, and we're all eating crabs.
I hope they don't bring the little stinker ben with them!

Ahhhhhhhhh....

This water is JUST right!

time to dry off on the sand!

Another day at the beach.

A few hoomans asked why i still have my fur coat in the summer.
It's because, our coats regulate themselves to adjust to our climate.
If they didn't, we'd overheat in a second.
We'd never make it to summer!
So when your vet tells you to shave your eskie, think twice about it!
We take care of ourselves.

Other hoomans ask, 'why do you take a white fluffy dog to the beach!
it'll get all sandy and gross!'
Our hair is 'hypoallergenic'.
And, because of the texture, by the time i dry off, all the sand and dirt
falls right off my coat. You'd never even know i was there!

I jump right in!
Then i can relax on the beach for the rest of the afternoon.
Enjoying the nice breeze.
if i need to jump in again, i just let my hoomans know.
And, while i'm on the beach relaxing in the breeze,
i barely even pant!

Ahhh! this is the life!

So, how bout a swim?!

The island.

Ben's last day was yesterday night.
They went to the small island in the neighborhood to fish.

They tell me he whined the whole time.
We had to go pick him up.
here is a lily on the island.

Look at what my dad caught!
this year, he caught the largest fish!
Sister still has record for the most. :)
